Distributor to Act as Central Checkpoint

Under the Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act a “Distributor” holding a Type 11 License will be responsible for the procurement, sale, and transport of medical cannabis and medical cannabis products between state licensed  Cultivators, Testing Laboratories, Manufacturers and Dispensaries.

Cultivation→ Distribution → Transportation → Testing → Manufacturing → Dispensing

The Distributor Type 11 License holder will act as a central checkpoint to ensure the quantity and content of medical cannabis and medical cannabis products received from cultivators and manufacturers for distribution to Dispensaries.  The Distributor will be responsible through the statewide Track and Trace Unique Identifier System to account to state and local taxing authorities as to the quantity of medical cannabis and medical cannabis products received and distributed.  The “Distributor” Type 11 license holder is required to hold a “Transporter” Type 12 License and register each location where medical cannabis and medical cannabis products will be stored for the purposes of distribution.
